The Government of India is organising the 36th edition of Know India Programme (KIP) from 1-25 October 2016 to strengthen engagement with young overseas Indians. 


 (a)   Duration of KIP is 25 days ( Excluding external travel) from 1- 25 October inclusive of 10 days in a select State of India- Punjab.

 (b) KIP participants should be in the age group of 18 to 30 years.

 (c) The Government of India will pay 90% of the amount of the air tickets and take care of Boarding, lodging, internal travel and all hospitality for their stay in India for 25 days.  KIP participant pays 10% of total airfare only.

 (d) Missions/Posts will obtain a signed written undertaking from the participant that he/she will complete the KIP, failing which amount spent on airfare by Govt. of India will be reimbursed to the Mission/Post.

(e) KIP participant must hold an international travel and medical insurance. This is a mandatory provision.

(f) The Final selection will be done on the basis of the candidates' academic accomplishments, achievements in Extra - Curricular activities, and performance at the screening test/ personal interaction . 

(g) Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is graduation from recognized University/ institute or enrolled for graduation – studying in graduation.

(h) A short screening test/ personal interaction of the candidates will be conducted for selection of the candidates.

(j) Application Form for the KIPs in person can be obtained from Social Secretary , High Commission of India, LICI House, Level 7, Butt Street, Suva, Tel: 3301125/Fax: 3301032.

(k) Completed applications in the prescribed proforma, in duplicate, along with a passport size photograph should be received in the High Commission of India by post or in person as per dates mentioned above against each Programme.  Incomplete application forms will summarily be rejected.   The envelope containing the application form should be superscribed “ 36th Know India Programmes 2016 .”
